Objective: To understand the steps in adopting a healthcare organization compliance project
Instructions:
Use the information from your assigned chapters and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) site on compliance projects at https://www.cms.gov/Research-Statistics-Data-and-Systems/Monitoring-Programs/Medicare-FFS-Compliance-Programs/Data-Analysis/index.html to address the following scenario:
Imagine you are the healthcare administrator of a 180-bed facility. Choose one of the current compliance projects from the CMS website that could be adopted for your facility.
-What are the reasons you would tell your board for electing to adopt the compliance program you chose?
-What are the current practices at your facility that put the patients and other staff members at risk?
-What are the benefits and challenges for adopting the program you chose?
Write your responses in a one-page paper. Create a cover sheet and add a reference list (at the very least, you should cite and reference the CMS website). You may also use your textbook.
